PURPOSE:
Position responsible for all aspects of U.S. federal and state income tax, including planning, compliance and financial reporting
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
CPA (MST or Masters in Accounting preferred)
Minimum 7-10 years tax experience,
Broad technical tax expertise and analytical skills
Strong accounting background, including in-depth knowledge of FAS 109
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of RS In-Source Tax Compliance Software
RELATIONSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:
Two tax accountants report directly.
Position will interact with Director of Tax, International Tax Manager and Tax Accounting Manager on a daily basis. In addition, will interact extensively with SEC Reporting staff and other areas within the Company’s finance function, including Treasury, Consolidations and Controllers – Operations
Position interfaces significantly with company’s public auditors with respect to quarterly and annual financial statement reviews and related SEC reporting
Ideal candidate will have experience, maturity and confidence to work directly with Senior Management (and their staffs) outside the tax function, mostly with Corporate Controller, Corporate Treasurer, Corporate General Counsel and CFO
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITY:
Position requires ability to work independently and to manage a group of professionals and various processes. It requires a high degree of judgment and analytical skill. The position requires assertiveness and decisiveness, and finesse in dealing with various internal and external contacts.

Manage the preparation and filing of consolidated federal income tax return, as well as any miscellaneous filings for other U.S. entities.

Involvement in all aspects of FAS 109, including review of tax provision and balance sheet presentation, along with any footnote disclosure or representation, reflected on all public filings

Management and coordination of S/OX Sec. 404 compliance and testing
E
Manage the preparation and filing of state tax returns
E
Monitor tax legislation and coordinate implementation
E
Tax research and planning regarding transactions, issues, compliance with respect to federal, state, and local taxes
E
Effectively manage direct reports, including delegation of challenging assignments and training
E
Tax reporting related to annual budget and long range forecasts
E
Management of audits by taxing authorities
