Plant Maintenance Engineer

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Engineer supports the Maintenance Manager, and is responsible for managing assets. The engineer is a key individual for maximizing asset utilization. The maintenance engineer concentrates on optimizing existing equipment or assets. Ultimately it is the maintenance engineer’s goal to ensure that the company gets as much production from its assets than any other company does with the same kind of assets.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans, schedules and coordinates corrective and preventive maintenance programs
  • Develops a weekly schedule and assist the Maintenance Supervisor in determining job priorities
  • Ensures that the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software data files are complete and current.
  • Identifies, analyzes and reviews equipment maintenance problems with Maintenance Manager
  • Define Plans to reduce cost while improving the quality of service
  • Establishes and monitors programs for critical equipment analysis and condition monitoring techniques
  • Reviews deficiencies noted during corrective maintenance.
  • Maintains and advises on the use and disposition of stock items, surplus items and rental equipment.
  • Consults with Maintenance Supervisors on technical problems.
  • Monitors shop qualifications and quality standards for outside contractors
  • Develops standards for maintenance overhauls and outages

·         Coordinates the efforts of maintenance, electric, and hydraulic work teams and provides maintenance, hydraulic, and mechanical engineering support to these teams.

·         Manages the facility's maintenance program with special attention to failure analysis and hydraulic pressure analysis.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Electrical Engineering

At least two years work experience in manufacturing industry

Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics required

Ideal candidate should be open to getting 'hands dirty' working on equipment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel

Provides Leadership in Best Practices and communicates Safety Awareness, able to motivate his personnel and develop on the high company spirit. 

Good written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills

Experienced in technical computer language and its applications.

Ability to manage a large number of projects concurrently.
